Also taking place on Saturday are the CycleActive guided rides and XC Dirt Eliminator. The CycleActive crew are going to run a variety of free guided and skills rides throughout the day to give riders the chance to warm up for Sunday’s marathon and polish up on some trail skills. For more info on the XC Dirt Eliminator and Kids races go to www.mtb-marathon.co.uk, or call John Lloyd on 01982 552923 or email info@mtb-marathon.so.uk. There is no pre-entry for the events, simply sign on when you arrive at the event. Race action will start at 5pm on Saturday.

Sunday will be all about the Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathon powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport, featuring four different courses starting at 10am. For further details go to www.mtb-marathon.co.uk.

The last few weeks have been dry in the area creating fantastic conditions for the road sportive as well as for the MTB Marathon. The single and double tracks are super smooth and just great fun to whiz along. The weather forecast for the weekend is perfect with temperatures over 20 degrease for both days. Saturday appears to be the warmer day of the two with a very slight breeze – ideal for a long day in the road saddle. Sunday’s temperatures are slightly lower but sunny with a light breeze. Nice!
