Abus Arica Women's helmet

It seems like a really clever feature in include an LED light on a helmet, and we're amazed we don't see more of these. The Arica features a Zoom adjustment dial at the rear which doubles as the LED light too. A nice idea and really easy to use, a firm press is all it takes to cycle between on, flashing and off.

Abus Arica helmet

Priced at £30 we were pleased to see a total of 14 vents, all well positioned for great airflow and the front three vents are protected with mesh keeping bugs out. The detachable visor is a stable fit, and when not attached you can fit the plugs provided for a seamless finish. All rather impressive features seeing as this helmet is billed firmly in the low to mid price range.

Having a small head, it can be tough to find a good fit, the Zoom adjustment system allows for a close fit, all the way around from the forehead to the rear. The straps are soft and easy to adjust, the chin buckle is a ratchet system, rather like those found on road shoes. A little tricky to master at first but simple enough with a bit of practice.
