Giro della Toscana Femminile (2.1)

The fifth stage of the Giro Della Toscana, from Segromigno in Piano to Capannori, was won by Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit) in a bunch sprint, from a small group of six riders that broke away from the main peloton on the final climb of the day.  Judith Arndt (HTC Columbia) placed second and in doing so took the leader’s jersey in the GC leadership, with Emma Johansson (Sweden) coming third in the 100.9 km stage.

"It was a pretty hard stage today, Iris Slappendel (NED) got away in the break but they chased her back before the last mountain," said Egon van Kessel, Cervelo TestTeamSports Director. "On that last mountain there was a break of three riders, Judith Arndt (GER), Tatiana Guderzo (ITA) and Tatiana Antoshina (RUS).  More riders joined the group during the climb.  Kirsten Wild (NED) and Charlotte Becker (GER) where in the group behind them.
