Pearl Izumi Barrier Overshoes

Overshoes have always been a problem for riders who love mountain biking and road riding, finding a pair that fit both types of shoe and cleat combo well is a struggle. And with mountain biking they tend to get trashed quickly too, opting for a road version (due to larger external cleat) means you can double up if you don't want to splash out and buy a specific pair for each discipline.

Pearl Izumi Barrier Overshoe

The Barrier have super-reinforced soles which fit snugly round your cleats and so far there isn’t even an obvious scuff.  The overshoe fits brilliantly too; snugly round the toes and pulls tight round the ankle. The Velcro fastening down the length of the Achilles is secure and easy to pull on and fits around the bulges of your shoes.  The material changes around the ankle, to a flexible rubber which fits snugly, keeps drafts and water out and looks tidy and sleek. The best feature has to be the cosy brushed inside, lovely and warm!

Functional and tough on the outside but warm and cosy on the inside, these overshoes pack a serious punch when it comes to keeping out the cold.  Paired with some merino socks, our feet have not even been close to getting cold, even on long 5-6 hour road rides into a chilly headwind.
