CTC Fill That Hole campaign steps up a notch

You have one month to name and shame or name and congratulate your council on their ability to keep the roads safe.  The pothole reporting website http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ has published a league table showing the UK councils that have the best and worst ratings for potholes.

You now have just one more month to rate your local authorities on their pothole-filling performance, after which the winning councils will be announced.  People can rate their council on the condition of the roads, and on the speed and quality of pothole repairs until mid-April.

The awards for best pothole fixing councils will presented by CTC - the UK’s national cyclists’ organisation - and construction company Aggregate Industries.

Roger Geffen, from CTC said: “With Fill That Hole making it easy for road users to report road defects, people are discovering that most councils are pretty good at fixing defects quickly once they know about them. These feedback ratings from the public will allow us to award the best performing councils.”

Mike Archer from Aggregate Industries added: “With the number of potholes expected to exceed two million for the first time this year, UK councils are under huge pressure. This awards scheme is to encourage authorities to get potholes fixed quickly and to reward those that are.”
