Natural Hero Hot Ginger Muscle Rub

We quite like DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) because it tells us we worked hard and we would hope to reap the rewards for our efforts on the roads, tracks and trails, but after a few days of intense exercise the novelty soon wears off and that’s why we are always willing to test products promise to help repair our tired muscles after exercise.

Natural Hero Hot Ginger Muscle Rub

We loved the Natural Hero’s Peppermint Spritz (read our review here), so we were really keen to try the “super-powered recovery” promised by their Hot Ginger Muscle Rub.  It is billed as a sports massage in a tube, it was going to have to be pretty darned good to live up to that!

The folks at Natural Hero have combined Ginger Root with Rosemary and Sweet Fennel essential oils that deliver powerful topical warming and soothing actions that help ease weary muscles.

You only need a very small amount – they recommend a pea sized squeeze – which should be rubbed into each muscle group.  We concentrated on quads, hamstrings and calves, plus lower back and neck after cycling, with a little bit on the shoulders if we had lifted some weights.

We rubbed it on and found it disappeared into our skin quickly, with no oily residue.  Even when we were fresh from the shower and still glowing from exercise, it was easily absorbed and left our skin silky smooth.

The smell is pleasant but very subtle, more about the ginger than the essential oils and definitely not artificially enhanced.  We reckon it would make a great alternative to our usual moisturiser and it could easily become a part of our post work-out routine.

All their products are tested on athletes rather than animals and the ingredients are almost entirely natural – 98% natural for the muscle rub.

All natural, soothing muscle rub that could easily become a habit.
