Craft Pro Cool Tee

We make no secret about the fact that we love a good base layer and we don’t believe that all the short sleeved versions should be consigned to storage over the cooler months - in our opinion, Craft’s Pro Cool Tee is just too lovely to hide away and will serve you well in the gym, in spin classes or on the turbo right through winter.

Craft Pro Cool Tee

So while this might be the last short sleeved base we review this year, be assured we will be still be wearing it as the days grow shorter, because we love the way it feels next to our skin.  And let’s not right off summer just yet either, we have been promised an India summer and September has certainly got off to a good start.

Craft have taken the winning formula used in their Cool V Neck long sleeved base (reviewed here) and made a short sleeved version.  They use the same very clever combinations of different fabrics and weaves to give you a base layer that actually cools the skin as it wicks away moisture.  The key to this is the use of their HEXA channelled, hollow polyester fibres that pulls air across skin and speeds the evaporation of sweat away from the body.

This works in combination with a mesh panel which starts at the base of the neck, runs down between the shoulder blades and them splits, to run across the back and under each arm, in an sort of inverted Y and this provides maximum venting for the areas where your body produces most sweat. The bottom line is that you get incredible wicking from a fabric that works to actually cool the skin.  We heard it described as built in air conditioning and thought that was the prefect description!

The fabric is just gorgeous next to the skin and the fit is close but not tight.  It is what Craft call their ergonomic fit, basically it is cut to flatter the female form and allows for a full range of movement, without tugging or pulling and there is enough tuck in to keep your lower back covered as well.

The colour choices include the staples of good old black or white, but the black has contrasting silver grey seams, which we really liked, and there is a third option of white with print if you are bored with black and white.

Craft at their best – a high tech base layer that works really hard to keep you cool and dry.
