SKS Diago Roadrace pump

There is no doubt the SKS DIAGO mini pump looks fantastic, but more importantly it packs a real punch, giving 10 bar or 144 psi from a quick and simple push fit.

SKS Diago Roadrace pump

There is no doubt the SKS DIAGO mini pump looks fantastic, but more importantly it packs a real punch, boastin 10 bar or 144 psi from a quick and simple push fit.

We love it when we find kit that is as functional as it is beautiful and SKS have not cut any corners with the DIAGO mini-pump.

A good pump is an absolute essential for any bike ride, but in our experience the performance varies considerably.  Whilst you will have to accept a compromise over a quality track pump, it is still possible to get good pressure out of a mini-pump, without endless road side pumping and so even if you hear the sickening hiss of air escaping from one of your tyres, with the right pump you can continue to enjoy your ride.

The best endorsement we can give for the SKS DIAGO mini pump is that we attached it to the road bike for the test and have been using it for a while now, with no intention of taking off any time soon!

A simple twist of the pump allows it to open to its full length and then it simply press fits over the valve and you are ready for action.  Vitally, it is really easy to hold, so even after a minute or so of pumping in the pouring rain it still feels secure in your hands.  And two minutes of enthusiastic pumping gave us just over 6 bar.

Before testing this pump we had some reservations about the press fit attachment, but they proved to be unfounded, because this pump stayed firmly pressed onto the valve while we pumped away and after one minute of pumping we had enough pressure to comfortably get home.  A further minute gave a really acceptable pressure for longer miles – we were really impressed.

The SKS DIAGO mini-pump attaches to the frame using a simple but substantial bracket that sits under the bottle cage.  A wrap over rubber band holds the pump firmly in place and we liked that we could free the pump without the need to take our full finger gloves off.

A common complaint of ours has been that some pumps have bits that stick out and catch on legs as you pedal, but this pump is so super sleek that when it is attached to the bike there is absolutely nothing that sticks out to catch your calf – you don’t know it’s there until you need it, bliss!

Available in either shiny black or white, you can choose a colour to blend or stand out from your bike frame.

Compact, easy to hold and simple to use, the pump fits securely over the valve and delivered good pressure – we haven’t left home without it.
