Whackjob Women’s Tees

The Whackjob women’sTee shirt has been a revelation to us, made entirely from natural fabrics that have a fabulously soft feel, they are technical enough to wear on the bike, but also stand out as a shirt to relax in too.

Whackjob women's tee

When we heard that Whackjob had made this shirt using 70% organic bamboo, 30% organic cotton, ethically sourced or not, we could not help thinking it might be a bit scratchy on the skin.  We could not have been more wrong – the fabric is in fact silky smooth and despite being really lightweight, it moves beautifully and has a lovely drape to it.

It looks so good you could be forgiven for thinking that this is a tee shirt just to hang out and relax in, but the truth is that it is begging to be taken out on the trails, where it does the job of a more usual, all man-made polyester shirt in wicking away sweat.  And the Whackjob Tee is naturally odour resistant, so there are no nasty smells no matter how hard you ride.

The cut follows the female form, without being tight and the neck line is slightly wider than is typical with a tee shirt, with the overall effect being flattering and easy to wear with baggies or jeans.

We had the blue tee and found the colour both strong and striking.  Washing is a doddle at 30 degrees and it dries very quickly.

We love it when we find natural solutions to the challenges of keeping cool and dry while on the bike, even better when they are ethically sourced and a real bonus when they look as good as the Whackob Tee does.  Our tester reported that her husband had commented on just how much she was wearing her tee, which she realised she had been picking it up almost without thought for day to day use and on the bike.

If you are buying on price alone you could jump to the conclusion that £26 is a lot for a tee shirt, but this is no ordinary tee shirt, the Whackjob Tee is a trail blazing technical top that doubles as a casual tee shirt when it is not searching out single track.

To our minds the ethically sourced materials alone are worth paying just a little bit more for, but this is a great looking, highly functional shirt that will quickly become a favourite.
