dhb Women's Lite-Fit Short Sleeve Base Layer

The dhb Lite-Fit base is a foundation layer for warm weather or indoor cycling, with an effective odour control treatment, combined with mesh fabric panels, to give truly excellent ventilation and cooling.

When the weather warms up the performance of your base layer really needs to be up to the job and dhb have tackled the task of keeping us cool and dry by combining different weaves to give more ventilation where we need it most.

The dhb Lite-Fit base lives up to its name by being incredibly light-weight and uses open mesh fabric on the back and under arms to help keep the core temperature down on the hottest of days, or when cycling indoors on the turbo or in a spin class, which in our experience is when the wicking ability of fabrics is really tested to the max.

It is tempting to think that you might be cooler without a base layer on the hottest of days, but pick well and your base layer will work to draw moisture away from your body, which has a cooling effect as well as keeping you comfortable and dhb seem to have hit the jackpot with their Lite-Fit base.

All seams are flatlocked to prevent chafing and we really appreciated the use of dhb’s anti-odour treatment “Polygiene”, which worked as if by magic to keep us smelling sweetly despite some serious sweating.  There really is no need for nasty kit smells with the various treatments that are available these days and the dhb solution, made from recycled silver, is as good as they get.

The fit is described as “regular”.  We found it to be figure skimming rather than figure hugging - the fabric sits close to the body where it can work to draw away moisture most effectively.  The design of thie base, in combination with the elasticity of the fabric, allowed us to move about without any tugging or riding up - the best compliment we can pay this base is to say we put it on and then did not give it a second thought.

We tested the short sleeved version, which we liked very much, but there is also a sleeveless option for those days when the mercury is off the scale.  The only criticism we had was that the neck was fractionally tight to pull over the head – it was absolutely no issue when it was on, just a bit of a close fit when getting it on or off.

Lightweight, breathable and with a top notch odour treatment, the dhb Lite-Fit base layer ticks all our boxes and we have been wearing almost non-stop since we got it.
