Tenn Ladies Sprint Short Sleeved Jersey

The Tenn Ladies Sprint short sleeved jersey was a rather delightful surprise to us.  We have not tested anything from this brand before, so it was a voyage into the unknown, but the fit and feel was excellent and the overall look was flattering.

Given the price point of £27.99 (reduced to £8.99 at the time of going to press) is it easy to focus on the incredible value for money this jersey offers and by doing so perhaps miss the point that it is a rather nice piece of kit, regardless of the price tag.

At Bike Envy, we always get excited about anything that protects the future of our planet and so we loved that Tenn have made the Sprint jersey using 100% recycled material, which is fabulously eco-friendly and leaves a much smaller carbon footprint too.

When we read about the recycled nature of the fabric used, we assumed there would be a downside, perhaps in the feel of the fabric, but that is definitely not the case.  We thought it was wonderfully soft to the touch and has a nice drape to it as well.  It also performed well, wicking away moisture as well as any but the most super-light jerseys we have had on test this summer.

Tenn have used two different fabrics for the Sprint jersey; a lightweight black fabric for the front and back panels, plus the arms, while the sides and pockets are made using a more ventilated, mesh type of fabric in a strong pink colour.  We found the combination worked really to keep us a bit cooler when we were training on hot days with the added advantage that the pink panels make the jersey rather slimming too.

The fit was loose, but not overly so and it is clear that it has been cut to accommodate curves in all the right places.  In particular we liked the generous length, especially evident at the back and the elasticated silicone gripper around the bottom kept everything perfectly in place.

There are the usual regulation three pockets across the back, with reflective elements and logos.  We found the pockets easy to access and deep enough to carry all the usual emergency rations and other essentials.  Less usual was the zipped pocket on the lower left hand side at the front, that was just big enough for a smart phone.  We found this much easier to access than the more commonly placed zipped pocket in the middle of the back of a cycling jersey.

Another pleasant surprise was how well put together the Sprint jersey is, with some nice touches that included tape around the base of the neck to prevent chafing and also around the bottom of the sleeves.

The Tenn Ladies Sprint jersey represents fabulous value for money and the recycled nature of the fabric allows you to feel rather smug about the purchase too.  That there is no downside in the performance of the fabric which is flattering to the figure makes this a winner for us.
