Gore Bike Wear Women’s Power 3.0 Jersey

The Gore Bike Wear Women's Power 3.0 jersey is no ordinary cycling jersey; the fabric, fit and attention to detail make this a jersey for those that are not prepared to accept compromise – it is a highly technical jersey which offers performance that matches its looks.

Gore Bike Wear Women's Power 3.0 Jersey

When you put Gore Bike Wear Women's Power 3.0 Jersey on, the first feeling is a big “WOW!” because it feels beautifully soft and luxurious, and the fit is stunning too.  It is super light and the “slim cut” is just like a second skin.

We tested the Waterfall/Ice Blue colour option which has fluorescent detail on the cuffs and shoulder, and the inside of the collar.  We believe it really is all about the smallest of details and Gore have not held back on the Women’s Power 3.0 jersey.  There are fluorescent flashes on the back at the shoulders and pale blue piping that extends down the back seams which together gives a beautiful streamlined and slimming look to the back.  These lead down to the obligatory three deep pockets, which have Gore Bike Wear branding on them to remind those who are on your wheel what excellent taste you have!  Thoughtfully Gore has added a zipped pocket for valuables on the outside of the middle rear pocket and this is nicely detailed with a fluorescent zip.  It is a properly useful size, we found we could fit more than just a phone and our keys in this – room for money and lippy too.

The cut of the Power 3.0 Jersey is generous, so the slightly dropped tail gives good coverage for the lower back and the rear of the jersey has elasticated gripper on the bottom hem, which we found very effective at stopping the jersey from riding up (no pun intended) when we were low over the bars.

The collar on the Women's Power 3.0 Jersey had been made from a double layer of the incredibly soft material that has been used for the body of the jersey and as a result it stands up smartly, even after repeated washes.  The seam that joins the collar to the body of the jersey is taped to avoid even the suggestion that it might chafe and Gore have included a high quality full length zip with a semi lock slider that is very easy to undo, even one handed on those hot climbs.

We tested this jersey in the 'heat wave' of 20 degrees plus, over the course of four to five hour rides and we really appreciated the mesh inserts under the arms, which seriously upgraded the ventilation in this area.  Overall the people at Gore have maximized the ability of this jersey to wick away sweat and as a result we were cool and comfortable even under hot and strenuous conditions.

The Gore bike wear brand is a market leader in Germany and Europe and we think this jersey is the perfect example of what they do well.  They have received more than 30 honours from European cycle magazines and are famous for introducing materials such as TEX®, WINDSTOPPER® and other technical fabrics to the sports world.  For the Power 3.0 jersey the fabric is particularly luxurious in feel and very much a high performance option as well – the perfect combination and no less than we deserve.  It’s not the cheapest jersey around but our test suggests it will wear well and has come out of the washing machine (several times now) looking like new and calling to us to take it out again!

The Gore Bike Wear Women's Power 3.0 jersey is a beautifully styled and highly technical bit of kit that is packed full of beautifully executed detail, all of which underlines the build quality of this top of the range jersey.  In our opinion every cycling wardrobe should have a few items at this level, because looking good and feeling great is a wonderful motivator to get on your bike.
