The dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix bib tights are perfectly cut for the female form and offer stunning value for money.  Made from 235g Roubaix fabric and designed to cover the core body area, they offer very effective protection against the cold.  With a full frontal zip and a quality pad, they offer good comfort on the bike too.

dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix Bib Tights

The dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix bib tights are plain black and feature effective reflective strips on the calves and reflective logos on the lower back and legs.  Despite there being no colour panels, dhb have managed to create a flattering and comfortable cut along the length of the tight.  The material feels surprisingly lightweight, for something that we found gives very effective protection against colder temperatures and we liked that it was super soft against the skin as well.

The bottom of the dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix bib tights have useful silicone gripper tape which wraps around the ankle.  We found it did a great job and there was absolutely no risk of the legs riding up.  The zips at the ankle appeared to be a little larger than was necessary but they are, as a result, more robust than some others and contrary to our initial concerns, they did not irritate the outer ankle in anyway, even when we were wearing close fitting overshoes.

dhb have done a great job with the overall fit of the Women’s Classic Roubaix bib tights.  The legs were a good length and very snug, without any pulling over the knees.  The design of the bib section however is a stand out feature, covering the core body and acting as an extra layer protecting the chest, but with a rear mesh panel which allows for improved ventilation.  What we found was that we only needed one base layer and a quality top layer to keep us toasty warm, even in temperatures under five degrees.  Our tester told us these bibs really are made for cold weather; wear it in anything warmer than 10 degrees and you are going to work up a sweat, she warned!

And the dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix bib performed well in the wet too.  We had the misfortune of getting caught in a few showers while we were testing them and found the lightweight nature of the fabric meant they dried out rapidly; overall we were very impressed!

After testing the tights on several rides of up to four hours, we can confidently say that the chamois is a good one.  Naturally there is a degree of personal preference here and the overall feel will depend on your saddle choice too, but we have no hesitation in saying we liked it.  The comfort and performance comes thanks to the seamless integration of the pad into the actual fabric of the tights, combined with the profiled female specific cushioning of varying thickness.

Comfort and warmth on the bike during the winter months is worth paying for but the dhb Women’s Classic Roubaix bib tights offer stunning value for money; they will keep your legs toasty warm and provide an extra layer over the core body to ensure that your chest is protected too.  Be sure to get the right size for you and if in doubt order two sizes, Wiggle’s return policy is second to none.
