Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece Jacket

The Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece Jacket is a firm favourite of ours because it is so incredibly versatile; truly a fleece for all activities and all seasons, as well as the relaxing you earn once you have done your active thing.

Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece

There are few things more gorgeous to wear than a Helly Hansen fleece because they perfectly fuse function with style and are always so beautifully put together.  So if you are looking for a high tech cover up to throw on before, during or after training, the Daybreaker will likely become your go to piece.

We have had the Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece Jacket on test for months now and we will not be packing it away during summer because it is such a versatile bit of kit.  The key to this being the super-lightweight, slightly stretchy 100g Polartec fabric used, which means it works really well as a mid-layer on the coldest days (think skiing or winter walks), but is just a good as a top layer on warmer days, when the activity levels is high (we’ve thrown it on over a winter base layer for running), or just for warming up and cooling down in the gym.

The full zip, with an easy to grab Helly Hansen toggle, makes the Daybreaker fleece quick to pull on or remove and it packs down small enough to fit into a backpack as an extra layer too.  In addition the two zipped pockets offer secure storage or, when fully opened, allow for ventilation through the mesh lining which we found very effective at moderating heat.  We really liked that we could keep the high neck line fully zipped up but vent out a little heat from our core via the pockets – it a nice touch that is entirely in keeping with our expectations from the Helly Hansen brand.

Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece

The Helly Hansen Daybreaker fleece jacket will certainly not need to be packed away as we head into warmer weather.  In fact we are wondering just how many of the six gorgeous colours we can justify owning – that’s almost one for each day of the week which would not be too much, would it?

The fit of the Daybreaker fleece is relaxed and figure skimming without being shapeless as so many fleeces are and the sleeves are the perfect length.  There is room to accommodate a long sleeved base layer underneath but equally it easily slips underneath a winter jacket with ease.  Overall we like the look of it as much with jeans as we do with our running tights and after a number of washes it still looks good.

Wonderfully versatile and so easy to wear, the Helly Hansen Daybreaker Fleece Jacket is a layer for all seasons, comfortable and technical, it looks great and is a big favourite of ours already.
